I'm off to see a woman die of tuberculosis while singing at the top of her lungs...

That is, I'm seeing Traviata tonight. My mom gets herself opera season tickets every summer, for the last several years, and then takes one other person with her. I bid on I Puritani, but no one else wanted Traviata, so I got that one too.

My mom also goes to the picnic beforehand--they set up tables outside, and you can bring your own supper or choose from a selection of boxed ones. She springs for the box suppers--they're very good. And then we usually go to the free talk beforehand about whatever opera is on that night. It's pretty fun.

And no, no wordcount bar because it's the weekend and crazy things have been going on. Monday morning, right after swim lessons....
