May. 7th, 2004 12:56 pm2,706 words into the rewrite of Anganos Reserve. Which might need a better title, actually, but I guess that's what I'm going with for now.
I'm not sure I like this start, but can't think of a better one. And actually, it may help me with the ending, which in the first draft just sort of trails off, since I knew the story was pretty much over and I was just vamping for word count at that point. We'll have to see.
Anyway, I got some steady work done today, although it will certainly need more polishing later. I'm thinking I should plow on through and then go back yet again and shine things up--yeah, the first draft is pretty darn ragged. So was the first draft of Isendeni Station, and actually I'm pretty pleased with it. Well, usually I am. Today I'm wondering why I ever thought I could write and can't imagine ever even looking at IS again because it's so sucky I'm going to have to go live in a hole in Alaska and eat worms and never speak to a single soul ever again.
Yes, I'm feeling better than I did yesterday when the rejection letter first arrived. Onward!
