Mmm, sugar skulls
Oct. 21st, 2007 05:40 pmOr at least, a vague approximation.
I couldn't find skull molds on short notice, so I used Wilton lolipop molds--smiley faces and stacked pumpkins. If anyone knows of a messier, more amusing way to spend the weekend I'd like to hear it.
Last night's calamari, I sauteed with olive oil and a truckload of minced garlic. It was very good. Paidhi Boy was compelled to try one, small bite, and he choked and gagged like he was dying, but he got it down. Mr. Cameron also had one small bite. More for me and Paidhi Girl!
I also opened a bottle of cheap sparkly--as God is my witness, I had no idea Lambrusco was red. I just saw a cheap pricetag, thought "I might have a reason to celebrate soon!" and took it home. Poured it out and faltered for a second. It wasn't just pink, it was red. It was quite nice. I think I'll have to get some for my next excuse for a bottle of sparkling wine.
