Two very small scenes

Paidhi Girl: It's bubbling!
Paidhi Boy: It's making a hill!
Me: I told you you'd like fried baloney!

This afternoon, at the Science Center.
In the course of a demonstration called "Boiling Hot, Boiling Cold" a gentleman pours liquid nitrogen into an erlenmeyer flask with a sort of outlet on the side. The nitrogen boils, of course, and frost forms on the beaker. The gentleman puts an empty film cannister in the mouth of the flask, blocking it, and then puts his thumb over the outlet and pop the film cannister flies out and hits the wall, startling the audience. He does it again, to the delight of all the nearby children. At which point Paidhi Boy says, "Wow, I wish I could do science."
(Yes, I did explain to him that not only could he do science, but he had actually done science many times before. Obviously what he really meant was "I wish I could do science that explodes.")
