What I want to know is WHERE IS MY GIANT SPACE VAGINA STORY!

That is such a very good question.

In other news, D. B. Cooper (maybe) identified?

Last but certainly not least, a couple of slush musings. I've been very lucky in the Rejection Response Sweepstakes, though Mr. Cameron reminds me my luck is sure to run out. What responses I've gotten have all been polite thank-yous. The best was a blog entry noting a rejection I'd sent and claiming that my comment had been genuinely helpful, which left me with a warm glow for a couple of days. Because, honestly, I only comment in an attempt to be helpful, and I know that despite my intentions I might well say something that's off the mark, or totally useless. In which case I totally expect the recipient to say, "What a bozo! She has no idea what she's talking about!" and pitch the thing in the garbage. Or their rejection jar, or whatever.

I think everyone who reads my LJ already knows not to argue with rejections. I confess I enjoy reading the accounts of those who do, sheerly out of slowing-down-and-watching-the-wreck impulses. I've gotten two rejections, in my whole time of sending stuff out, that I thought were...well. I did not respond to them, I put them in the folder where I put rejections, and sent the story elsewhere, and that was that.
