It's kind of odd. I've printed out the first draft of the next novel, to go over it before I dive into the re-write. For some reason, the first third or so printed without any quote marks or apostrophes, although they're there in the file. But that's not what's odd. What's odd is that reading it is kind of like watching a movie with the sound down, with captions on. It feels silent to me, and when I turn to the pages where the quotes actually did print, it's like somebody suddenly turned up the volume.
