Excellent, fabulous, amazing, fantastic!
Also, completely insane.
duskpeterson is compiling an index of IPSTP offerings, with first lines where applicable. All that free stuff, organized for your pleasure and convenience!
That is flat out nuts. But you know? There are kinds of insanity that make the world a nicer place.

Rejection! My poor dinos came back again. That's okay, by now they're used to it. They've gone out to their next audition. (I have a Rule. When a story comes back rejected, it may not spend the night languishing unemployed on my hard drive. It goes out again before I go to bed. If this is impossible, it goes out next morning. Stories only stay home longer than a day for very, very good reasons--like, say, I think it would be perfect for a particular themed issue or a market that has reading periods, and subs open sooner than a ms might be back from another market.)
Also, I am beginning to ponder the idea of having a tiny anniversary party when the day comes (not so very far off) that Black Gate has had my ms (Au) for a whole year. We would have calamari for supper, of course.

This morning's I never thought of it that way moment:
"Mom, do you know a song called When the Saints Go Marching In?" Paidhi Boy asks me.
"Yes. I do."
"Sing it!" So I sing it. "Why does he want to be in that number?"
"Well," I tell him, "the singer means they want to be one of the saints marching into heaven."
Paidhi Boy ponders this for a moment. "Well, he could sneak up behind them and pretend he's one of the saints and walk in heaven."

Date: 2007-04-25 06:45 pm (UTC)I've sent it to Say...Is This the End? Which I, personally, think it's perfect for, but we'll have to wait and see.

Date: 2007-04-25 06:47 pm (UTC)I need to be better about sending stuff out right away too, but often I'm not sure where to send it next. And Harmony is currently cooling its heels because I already have a story submitted at the market I want to send it to next, and I don't know how they feel about have multiple stories from the same person simultaneously.

Date: 2007-04-25 06:51 pm (UTC)I often try to line up a list--when I've reached the bottom of the list I spend some of my "fretting over subs" energy finding more markets to add. Usually by the time it comes back I've got at least one more. Though Au is going to run out of markets very soon, just because of its size, and I'm not sure what I'll do then.

Date: 2007-04-28 05:21 pm (UTC)Sorry not to send you an e-mail about this, but I couldn't find your e-mail address. I'm trying to identify the creators of IPSTP userpics. Is this (http://userpic.livejournal.com/60910056/1659292) by you, and if not, do you know who created it?
