Well, f*%$ing Quechup

So. This morning I got an invite to friend someone on Quechup, I will not supply the link.

I knew the name on the invite, so I said, "Oh, huh, Quechup." So I clicked on the link and like a stupid idiot signed up. Looked around a bit more and thought, "nah, don't need any more networking things, now I think about it," and told it to delete my account.

This afternoon I discover that my entire contact list has been spammed with friend requests. So. That really sucks. And I am extremely embarassed. And wondering what the hell one can do about companies that do crap like that.

Ah, good. At least I know I can delete that. I'm currently reading my e-mail on-line and it just looks like an empty file by web-mail. No worries. :-)

Thanks so much for the head's up. I hadn't heard a thing about this Quechup place til you mentioned it a few days ago -- I've kinda been out of the loop. Seems that other people on Livejournal are talking about Quechup today, and some place called Rapleaf too. (sighs)

May they all be boiled in oil.

When the "friends" request from you arrived that day, I wondered if spamming this be the case because I had never heard of Quechup. I briefly went to the site anyway, and decided that I too was socially networked to the max -- so never signed up or re-friended you. Thanks for posting this: now I know what happened & haven't mortally offended you by not accepting your 'offer'.

BTW, thanks for friending me on LJ! I signed up a couple of weeks ago, having finally seen the Light...

Oh, the whole thing was horrible. Everyone I've ever subbed a story to by email....

And I'm glad you're on LJ! I really like having the friends list, it's just so nice to be able to keep up that way. :)
