More Scratch!
Oct. 26th, 2007 07:05 amYeah, it's more "cute things my kids do."
So Paidhi Girl has been playing with Scratch, and now Paidhi Boy is beginning to think he's missing out on some fun...so his sister is giving him lessons.
They spent a great deal of time working on this, which isn't so much a game as an extravaganza of Cameron Kid Sound Effects. Whenever they crash the car into other cars, they giggle madly at the sound. The notes tell you very helpfully what order you're supposed to crash the cars.
Then Paidhi Boy made this. Although he says the "bad guys" car blows up in the end, it only loses its wheels. I've already suggested that perhaps a game that consists almost entirely of smashing one car into the other eighty times is...well, perhaps it needs a little more variety. Nonetheless, Paidhi Boy is very proud of it.
Paidhi Girl is working on a very complicated game based on Erin Hunter's Warriors books. It's not quite working right, she tells me.
Paidhi Boy's future projects seem to include socks--apparently someone at school talked about making halloween ghosts from old socks, and he's been insisting that various socks are too small for days. Unfortunately for him, I did a sock purge not long ago, and there aren't any suitable. Maybe he'll be able to talk Mr. Cameron into sacrificing a pair, since Mr. Cameron has a lot of white socks. We'll see.
Me, I've got School Crud. Hopefully it's mild--both the kids had headaches and sore throats for a day or two, a while back, and then sniffles for a long time. I'll take that, if there's a choice, over something really horrible.

Date: 2007-10-26 05:42 pm (UTC)Hmmm ... the first one doesn't seem to re-set properly after you get hit by the dog's car. The first time I made it through OK until the killer car got me. But the second time, I waited too near the road for the dog's car to go by, and after it got me, I couldn't start it over again: I just kept getting more "clunk" noises as the dog's car kept cruising by.
