"Remember when I came in last night and told Mom that I had a bad dream?"

"No," says Mr. Cameron.

"Because you were dreaming?"

"I must have been fast asleep."

"I had a dream, I was lying by the window and I heard these footsteps come up the basement stairs, and they got louder and faster and when they came to my room they stopped."

"It was probably the cats playing."

"I thought it was a P Pal." (For some reason I've never understood, those things creep Paidhi Boy out in a major way, and have ever since he was tiny. Lately he's become sort of ambivalent about them.)

"Oh, well then," says Mr. Cameron, "you had nothing to worry about."

"It was an evil P Pal," Paidhi Boy insists. "I thought it was going to kill me."

"P Pals don't exist," Paidhi Girl points out, very sensible.

"But what if P Pals existed?" asks Paidhi Boy urgently. "What if there was an evil P Pal? What? If???"

There followed a discussion of how one would cook an evil P Pal after the cats had killed it.

(grins) Make sure Paidhi Boy knows that kitties used to protect Tibetian temples. Cats can be very ferocious protectors with all those teeth and claws, so he is very safe indeed. :)

Also, you must now share the P Pal cooking recipes.

After viewing the P PALs in their colorful glory, I would say that extensive marination would be in order, and maybe BBQ sauce.

(I just managed to mis-type "sauce" several different ways. One of them was "cause." This is your brain on Tylenol 3 ... .)

Ah - saw your icon

And I realized that I'd missed an avatar opportunity. This one is much more appropriate.

Oh, and a Crockpot might also do wonders. You can cook the P Pal for a very, very long time to soften up the ... meat?

So, Mz Cameron, where are Paidhi Boy's recipes?

Busy week, sorry!

The recipes weren't terribly elaborate. The one that met with the greatest favor was chopping them up and cooking them in the skillet. Another I recall was P Pal steaks.

I like the marinade idea! And yes, I imagine P Pals are kind of tough and a bit gamy!

haha, I love it

I did not think of that. It's brilliant!
