ccfinlay has had a smashing idea.My next plan is to test the women-can't-sell-to-F&SF idea. You know how a certain group of folks bombard Strange Horizons with subs on April 1st? Let's shoot for 100 subs by women writers to F&SF in a single day. Sarah Prineas should send in two. (And if they're in "The Red Cross Knight" vein, maybe three.) Bear? Chance? Sandra? Karin? Any of you in? The 19th Amendment to the Constitution was ratified on August 18th. That could be the mail-in date.
Now, he's asking for people with a sales record to sub. And I have a pretty useless sales record, for his purposes, but dang it, I'm going to join the mob on August 18.
velourmane, blueeverglades, fishywish, um, who else is a girl? Lots of you! Cause really, what have you got to lose besides a couple of dollars and some printer ink?Will it do anything? Will world peace break out, and everyone start singing Kumbayaa and will kittens and bunnies and rainbows spontaneously generate and will a new day dawn on a beautiful SF utopia? Well, probably not. But it sounds like fun, and more women subbing has to be a good thing, right?
