Wow, Lonestar rejects fast! Nice note. But chalk up another rejection for the story Andy Duncan "thoroughly enjoyed" and said I should have no trouble selling. *sigh* Two rejections for it in one day...

It's out the door again, of course.

The patient recovers, slowly but surely. He keeps wanting to go get things for himself, and keeps apologizing when he's asleep half the day, or needs something fetched, and I keep telling him to get his butt back on the couch! And he's supposed to have us fetch things for him, and if he's tired there's a reason for that, so sleep! But the incisions are healing nicely, and so is he, although it hurts him to laugh (note to self--do not watch the Simpsons three days after gallbladder surgery). Also, I have discovered just exactly how hard it is to keep track of what day it is when no one is going to work or school.

And ooh, ooh, ooh, I just discovered that I can add events to my Google calendar from my cell phone! And also request a list of today's or tomorrow's dates the same way, with text messages! Mr. Cameron was underwhelmed, but I think it's darn nifty.

Also, for lunch yesterday I made the quickie tomato soup I found on parenthacks, and it was quite good, although I think I'll halve the recipe next time. I've got the chick pea salad on my list of things I want to make this week. Parent hacks has been a good source of interesting stuff--not long ago Paidhi Boy and I tried the sponge cake--it's got four ingredients, you put each thing in its own bowl, number them from one to four, and then tell kiddo to put them in the mixing bowl and stir, in order. And they've made a cake all by themselves! We've done it several times, and if anyone out there has kiddos to amuse, I highly recommend it.
