I’m traveling this summer!

If you look over to the righthand side of my blog, and kind of scroll down a bit, you’ll see the sidebar where I keep information about upcoming appearances. (If you’re seeing this on Dreamwidth, there’s a direct link right here.) I’ve updated it with more details about where I’ll be this summer.
Basically, I’m headed to Celsius 232 in Aviles, with a stop in Barcelona to sign books, then I’m off to Munich and Berlin, and from there I go to Birmingham and…almost certainly more things in the UK will get added to my schedule after Birmingham. Then I’m off to Uppsala, for Reception Histories of the Future.
So, keep an eye on that sidebar for more stops and more details of the ones I don’t have them for yet. I look forward to seeing you all!

Date: 2017-07-06 04:46 pm (UTC)Fassbender & Rausch Chocolatiers
Gendarmenmarkt
Charlottenstrasse 60
(though I think they're just Fassbender now, it's been two years since we were there)
and
Zikos Grill
Charlottenburg
Kaiser-Friedrich-Straße 61A, 10627
Fassbender, aside from selling great chocolate and having a very nice cafe upstairs (and a restaurant, but with limited hours), had absolutely amazing sculptures. Zikos was the first restaurant that we ate at when we arrived there and the food was just wonderful. My wife had a sort of hunters stew, I had a fillet of sole. And we had beer. Very good stuff. As I recall they either had English menus or the menus had two sides, something like that. It's 3 or so blocks from the underground, and there are some nice little shops in the district. It's a very multicultural district. The area that Fassbender is in is much more touristy, Charlottenburg is much more lived-in.
Have a wonderful trip, we certainly did!

Date: 2017-07-07 02:48 am (UTC)I've gone to Celsius, too. It could not be more fun. Be sure to eat the bean soup, Fabada asturiana, which is a culinary treasure. And take a little walk in the medieval part of town -- it's small, so it will be a short walk, but there's a lot to see.
Be warned: Spain is horrible at tea. The coffee is outstanding, though.
